HAPTIC CHAIR

Haptic chair is the result of a comprehensive study in how we interact with surfaces in our surroundings. The investigation led to experiments with tactility, and has become a counteraction to how we see and produce modern furniture today.

While carefull details and tactile surfaces often disappears in the process of mainstreaming furniture for production, this chair wants the exact opposite.

It wants you to be intrigued, awaken your curiosity and most importent you should want to touch it. The frame of the chair is designed to meet the high sensitivity threshold of the hands, beeing formed, carved and polished carefully for a soft feel.

Beeing rough and diverse, the back and seat accomodates the bodys lower sensitivity threshold, and works as a visuel attractor for the spectator.

Frame in soaptreated oak - upholstery in foam, textile, furniture bored and cobber thread.
